The ticket price is $150 per person ($1,500 per table of 10) and includes a three-course dinner, open bar and the evening's live entertainment. The race night event proved to be hugely successful last year and will once again feature the talent of Mr. Mark Johnson, one of the most recognizable voices in British racing. Johnson is an internationally renowned racehorse commentator and one of Britain's senior track announcers, having called many of Britain's most important races in the last few years. Prior to his full time involvement in Horse Racing, Johnson also commentated on several other sports including Formula One, Test Cricket, Boxing and the Seoul Olympics. At the horseracing night in Turks and Caicos, Johnson will call actual races that have been video taped and will be shown on large televisions while guests of bet on the winners. Participants are encouraged to bring cash to the event. Last year the night proved to be hugely successful for both the TCAAF and attendees, resulting in more than $25,000 being donated to the organization. "We are so happy that Mark has decided to return to Turks and Caicos and once again bring us an exciting evening of live horseracing action. This fun and unique event has become a major highlight for the TCAAF. We are very fortunate and grateful to Mark and to PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Beaches for once again hosting this event and choosing our organization as the beneficiary," said Micky Shoulak, chairman of the Turks & Caicos AIDS Awareness Foundation. Companies that purchase tables for $1,500 will have their name/logo placed within the evening's race card. Contact the TCAAF office at 941-2222 for tickets. About the TCAAF The TCAAF is a non-profit organization, funded entirely though donations. Through successful fundraising efforts such as the annual Jadot Cup Golf Tournament, and being benefactors of funds raised through other events such as the Chief Minister's Cup and the Horse Racing night hosted by PriceWaterHouseCoopers, the TCAAF has been able to host youth forums and is currently in the process of building a youth center. Most recently, the TCAAF has announced a membership drive and encourages everyone to join the organization as a member. Individual memberships are $100, corporate memberships are $500, please call 941-2222 for details. "AIDS…. Help us make a difference." ENDS |
